This holiday season, Alex and Ani is giving back to Blessings in a Backpack! Blessings in a Backpack is a 501 C (3) non-profit organization currently feeding over 55,000 children in 318 schools in 37 U.S. states and three countries – Canada, Columbia and Haiti. The program is a hybrid of private sector funding and public partnership carried out in public schools. They are feeding the future of America, one school at a time!

On January 8th, 2012, Alex and Ani Charity by Design will set up the Bangle Bar for the Blessings in a Backpack Charity Event! Join us as we participate in the multi-generation day out for women and girls to shop #CharmedArms, support charity, enjoy live music and launch the exclusive Cornucopia Bangle! Representing generosity and blessings, the Cornucopia is a symbol of abundance and signifies all sustainable blessings that Mother Nature provides. Join the battle against hunger and help feed the future of America, 20% of sales go directly towards Blessings in a Backpack!

Special guests of the Charity Event include Danielle North of WPRI’s The Rhode Show, upcoming teen band Girls Nite Out and more! Proceeds from the event will go to feedings children who qualify for free and/or reduced meals in school during the weekends at The Highlander Chart School, Community Preparatory School and Meeting Street in Rhode Island!

Featured on FOX Providence, Dory Faxon from Blessings in a Backpack joined The Rhode Show to talk more about a local program that is helping underprivileged children living in Providence. Check out the video segment below!
