On Monday, October 22, 2014, the ALEX AND ANI Human Resources and Legal departments joined together as Team (+) Impact to show support for a local Rhode Island organization that has been providing support to victims of domestic violence and their families for the past 35 years. The Rhode Island Coalition Against Domestic Violence (RICADV) provides emergency shelter to those facing abuse, offers assistance and support through their long-established abuse hotline and also offers counseling services to victims and their families – which include the elderly with increasing frequency.

RICADV also serves as a catalyst for change by advocating both locally and nationally to stop the violence and by supporting member agencies in an effort to maximize the impact in the community. We wanted to do something to help enrich the shelter and allow this great organization to continue to provide a positive and uplifting environment to those in the Rhode Island community who benefit from the wonderful services they provide.

We painted the community center room, cleaned windows, painted the playground fence, and cleaned and stained a handicap ramp. The atmosphere was filled with positive energy as the teams partnered together to give back to an organization whose staff devotes countless hours to helping those in need.
