At Alex and Ani, we believe in the power of positive energy, and nothing embodies it more than our Charity by Design division. Created in February of 2011, Charity by Design is solely dedicated to giving back to charitable organizations. It empowers non-profit organizations both on a national and local scale to reach their goals by sharing their mission through the power of positive energy and creative design. Since its inception, Charity by Design has been able to help numerous charities nationwide and partner with influential organizations that we continue to grow with.

Our Employee Engagement program, Team (+) Impact, is an extension of Charity by Design geared toward making a difference through and beyond our partnerships. In 2013 alone, Alex and Ani employees have volunteered 672 hours of their time. It’s a wonderful way to give back to the community and really encompasses how valuable the non-profits we work with are.

Team (+) Impact participated in the Light the Night walk for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in September 2013.

Employees participated in Go Pink Day for breast cancer awareness in October 2013.

JA in a Day, a program organized by Junior Achievement of Rhode Island, aims to educate young people to succeed in a global economy.

Nothing feels better than paying it forward. Our Founder and Creative Director, Carolyn Rafaelian, is dedicated to giving back and frequently uses the quote, “If you give a bucket, you get a waterfall back.” Carolyn’s father, Ralph Rafaelian, instilled the importance of philanthropy in her at a young age, and Charity by Design is a shining example of these values. Giving back and showing others selflessness and compassion will surely shine a light into the lives of many.

Now that the holiday season is here, we are inspired to give back as much as possible. Through Team (+) Impact, we are collaborating with various organizations to brighten the lives of those less fortunate.

Marine Toys for Tots Foundation

We are asking employees and consumers to bring new, unwrapped toys to boxes located at all retail locations and HQ during November and early December to help less fortunate children in communities nationwide.

Elves for Elders to Benefit RI Nursing Homes

Employees can select a star off the mini giving tree for a local senior citizen who may not receive a gift this holiday season. They can also sign up to be a ‘wrapping elf’ or a ‘delivery elf,’ where they will wrap the gifts and/or deliver them to a local nursing home.

Giving Tree for St. Mary’s Home for Children

Employees can choose an ornament from the giving tree to help make a child’s holiday wish come true at St. Mary’s Home for Children.

Providence Animal Rescue League (PARL)

To bring the holidays to our furry friends at PARL, we are collecting animal toys, care supplies, and treats for the shelter.

Big Brothers and Big Sisters of RI Clothing Drive

We are collecting lightly worn clothes to help fund community service projects around the state.

Our mission is to continue to inspire all who learn about us to give back to those who need it most.  We hope you become inspired this holiday season to give back and make someone smile. Together, we can make a huge difference in the lives of people everywhere!
